Growing up Rich enjoyed playing multiple sports. He had the athletic ability to pursue and be successful at anything he put his mind to. Copiague High School is where he called home, playing four years of varsity basketball. Rich signed to Adelphi University on a full basketball scholarship, where he was motivated and inspired by his coaching staff to be the best that he could be. Rich took on a leadership role as a captain his sophomore year and by his senior year him and his team managed to clench the NE-10 Championship title. As much as Rich loved the game of basketball and as many offers came his way, his decision to reject playing professional basketball was one he was sure about. He loves giving back to the next generation. His selfless attitude created an environment for kids playing under him to achieve greatness in their lives. To him there’s nothing more moving than seeing a player work to their potential and seeing how bad they want it. Rich wants SB Sports to continue growing as a competitive organization where players of all skill levels and ages can do just that; achieve greatness in their lives, no matter how big or small in magnitude.
